Tasks from the first two weeks of home study
Year 7
These tasks can all be completed in the exercise books. You can write notes when carrying out the research, before completing the tasks below. BBC Bitesize is one website you could use to research.
Task 1: Research the adaptations of two different animals. Make a poster for each to outline the adaptations, with how they are useful.
Task 2: Make a postcard or a letter that you could send to someone from a planet or in space. You should include what the conditions are like and what you are experiencing.
Task 3: Using BBC Bitesize KS3 Chemistry - Rocks and Rock Cycle. Make a series of fact sheets about the different types of rock and a storyboard of the rock cycle.

Task 1: Make a mind map on “Biodiversity”. Research reasons for preserving Biodiversity and different ways we can help preserve Biodiversity. You could include specific examples and people’s opinions.
Task 2: Research into facts on light and sound and make a table comparing key ideas.
Task 3: Research one example of a metal and one example of a non-metal. Make a poster to outline key properties and uses of each.

Watch the relevant “Freesciencelessons” on YouTube and look at the notes and flashcards on “Physics and Maths tutor” to complete the tasks below in the exercise book. You will also need to complete any Educake quizzes set.

- Watch “Required Practical 3 – Osmosis” and make a poster on the practical.
- Make a mind map of cell structure, specialised cells and stem cells.
- Make a glossary / Q&A sheet of key words relating to enzymes and digestion.
- Make a fact sheet about plants organs, tissues and transport.
For each of the topics listed below, make a mind map / fact sheet / poster / Q & A sheet. This is for each topic.
- Atomic Structure

- Watch required practical videos 1-4 and make a poster on each practical
- Make a fact sheet summarising all the equations learnt this year on energy and electricity
- Make a summary table on different renewable and non-renewable energy sources, including how they work, and advantages and disadvantages.
Year 10

- Complete the Required Practicals worksheets given out in lessons and done the quizzes set on Educake and shared on Show My Homework
- Then:
